Daryll Hackett’s Urban Circus and John Froud’s Zephaniah Trust come together to provide an umbrella organisation to do much more than deliver Christian arts

The background

Daryll Hackett is an experienced circus performer and qualified youth and community worker who has co-ordinated community projects for some seven years and recently managed a centre in Shipley. Urban Circus, started in 1999, runs workshops, teaches skills and develops shows themed around life issues, the aim being to informally educate through creative arts. Ethos : “To what extent does our desire to love and serve stay only in the realm of intention?” Vincent de Paul.

John Froud is a self-employed singer-songwriter and evangelist. Much of John’s work is in the schools of Bradford, West Yorkshire, often taking assemblies and leading worship, challenging many of contemporary society’s prejudices about Jesus and his church. So that he can work in places where fees are not possible, the Zephaniah Trust (reg. Charity 1036478) was formed in 1994. Zephaniah 3:17 is the inspiration, “taking light into dark corners” the mission statement.
